White American Ginseng is a restorative herb that facilitates recovery from stress and fatigue. White American ginseng is a qi tonic that is both nurturing and soothing.

Found in the Cumberland Gap region of the southern Appalachhians, this native American plant is used by both American and Chinese Herbalists alike. It had wide use among native American Indians where it was consumed for various maladies and to increase fertility. However, White American Ginseng has been extensively exported to Asia where it has been introduced as a tonic herb. According to traditional Chinese herbology, it has the function to benefit the qi, generate fluids, nourish the yin, and clear heat.

Pharmacological studies have focused on the radioprotective, antitumor, antiviral, metabolic, antioxidant effects as well as its influence on the nervous, reproductive, and endocrine systems, lipid metabolism, and cholesterol. Through research it has been determined that Saponins, termed ginsenosides, are considered the primary biologically active components of the Panax species.
