About Our Chlorella
There are two common species of chlorella: Chlorella pyrenoidosa and Chlorella vulgaris. We only use Chlorella pyrenoidosa in our Emerald Energy® formulas because it is much more nutritious. The cell walls of this species are much tougher, however, than the less nutritious (and less expensive) Chlorella vulgaris. But through a special technique during the drying process, the cell walls of our Chlorella pyrenoidosa are gently broken open without damaging the dense nutrients inside. This “cracked cell” method is key to allowing the body to get the maximum nutritional benefit out of the Chlorella.

About Chlorella In General
Chlorella a type of unicellular fresh-water green algae that contains a higher concentration of chlorophyll than any other cultivated plant (it’s also packed with protein, vitamins, and minerals). The cell wall material of chlorophyll aids in detoxifying the colon and promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria. Chlorella also helps to eliminate heavy metals from the body and maintain muscle tone during times of decreased food intake. Chlorella contains a combination of molecules called “controlled growth factors,” which provide an increase in energy and immune health when taken regularly.
